Diner en Cheverly - Saturday September 7th!

Join One Cheverly as we bond with our neighbors over dinner, drinks, conversation and laughter. Date: Saturday, September 7th Time: 6:00 - 9:00 pm Location: Cheverly United Methodist Picnic Area (next to parking lot along Parkway) * Tables for food will be provided.  * Please bring picnic blankets or chairs to sit. Kids are welcome! The event will be a Family potluck/picnic style dinner. Each family should bring one of their favorite dishes and drinks to share along with plates, cups and utensils. Feel free to bring items to help decorate (e.g. flowers, candles, art, etc.) something that represents your family, personal style or culture.  For the evening's entertainment, we will be playing music made up of everyone's favorite artists and songs. ONE CHEVERLY BLACK HISTORY MONTH FEATURE: Mr. Jeffrey Felton Green Written By: Brieanna Boswell Interviewed By: Brieanna Boswell & Jennifer Kone February, 2019 For our first Black History Month Feature, One Cheverly (represented by myself, Brieanna Boswell and Jennifer Kone) had the honor of speaking with a 23-year resident of Cheverly, Mr. Jeffrey Felten-Green. Jeffrey lives in Ward 2 and works as a State Policy Advisor for the Department of Justice by day, where he has worked for over 20 years with such projects as the “Tribal Court Assistance Program.” By night, weekend, and even on his lunch break, Jeffrey gets to pursue his passion. He paints with bright colors, telling stories, and evoking humor through paintings ranging from folk art to political pieces, nature to fantasy, and even flowers and fairies, which cover every wall in his Cheverly home. Hi One Chev!! Habitat for Humanity is going a Women Build Event April-June:  Women from your area join together for a multi-day effort to build a home for low-income hardworking families in the community. 36 teams of 10 women will work together to raise a minimum of $350 each towards our goal of $200,000. Monies raised will support renovations and new homes for low-income families in Maryland’s Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties.  Think we could put together a Cheverly Team??!!!!! https://www.habitatmm.org/MarylandWomenBuild
